a peaceful and sustainable use of maritime resources is crucial for the survival of humanity and the planet.
In 2021, the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development was inaugurated, under the motto “to deliver, together, the Ocean we need for the future we want.” As a contribution to the reflection and debate on this crucial matter, on the 22nd and 23rd of February of 2021, an online International Conference “The Ocean that Belongs to All” was livestreamed from Lisbon. This Conference aimed at contributing to Ocean Literacy by raising public awareness of the sustainable global agenda, enabling people to better understand and be able to influence the role and action of decision-makers on matters regarding the peaceful and sustainable use of maritime resources.
